One teaching heritage, four local leaders

Our Instructors

The current academy instructors developed as students of Grandmaster Joe Sayah before taking responsibility for their own schools and communities.

The current academy leaders

Teaching the next chapter

Each instructor manages a distinct local academy while remaining connected through Joe’s teaching lineage.

Mornington

Joe Sayah’s son and student. Charlie becomes the permanent Mornington academy leader on 22 October 2026.

Dandenong

A long-term student of Joe and chief instructor of the Dandenong academy since 2009.

Oakleigh

Trained under Joe before completing an intensive instructor programme and establishing the Oakleigh academy.

Glen Waverley

Trained under Joe, developed as an assistant instructor and now leads the Glen Waverley academy.

The founder

Joe’s path from student under William Cheung to teacher and academy founder connects the four profiles on this page.

A lineage continues when students become responsible teachers in their own right.
